Jaeger Tours is a small birdwatching/natural history tour company whose philosophy includes the enjoyment of birds in natural settings and sharing these experiences with other birders. It is our feeling that the ultimate reason for birding is to have fun, with the challenges of personal milestones and record keeping a close second.
Most of our tours visit special bird-friendly habitats, where our goal is to experience everything we can find in these areas. We employ expert leaders who work hard to find all the possible birds, while enjoying other aspects of natural history (butterflies, amphibians, historical culture, etc.) along the way.
Our leaders are also willing to share natural history information about many birds that we see, so that they mean more than just a "check" on your list. Instead of racing around to build the biggest list, we will spend a little time enjoying the beauty and lifestyle of certain special birds.

If your purpose is primarily to see and hear as many species as possible in a short period of time, we are probably not the company for you. If you want to enjoy a special location and attach a mood and overall positive experience to your memories, then maybe you should try us out.
Some of our tours are actually more serious than others, where we work tirelessly to find all the specialty birds in a geographic area (such as the Dry Tortugas/S. Florida trip), so it is a good idea to read the expanded information about each one and contact us with any questions. Beginning birders are welcome on all tours, and our leaders will try to make your experience as enjoyable and educational as possible. There is no competition factor on a Jaeger Tour, with everyone an equal sharing the same goal - to enjoy birds and nature. Sharing information and birding tips amongst participants is encouraged.
Most of our tours involve less than 15 participants, with at least two leaders accompanying ten or more participants. On many foreign tours, a local guide is included with one of our regular leaders. We offer private tours in the Cape May NJ/Delaware area for one person or a group of birders, and will customize tours for private groups to a variety of locations in North and South America.
